Kiku-Hana "Chrysanthemum Flower" Tanto Tsuba

(Blackened Copper Alloy)

Tsuba, Tanto Tsuba, Hand Guard, Finger Guard, Tanto Hand Guard

Kiku Hana Tanto Tsuba
£7.50

This blackened copper alloy Tanto Tsuba (Hand Guard) would make a nice collectors item for those interested in the Japanese sword art, or as a customisation piece for your own Tanto Project (Although with a little careful filling could easily be adapted to make an unusual Wakizashi or Katana customisation). In its most traditional use the Tsuba is a method of reducing the chance of the hand slipping from the handle onto the blade during use, although it also has the advantage of providing a small degree of protection from the blows of an opponents blade. Tanto Tsuba however are normally only designed to minimise the chance of hand slippage during use as their very small size offers no realistic protection to the users hand or fingers.

  • Approx Width: 37mm
  • Approx Thickness: 3mm
