It has been said many times that in simplicity lies great beauty, a maxim confirmed entirely with the
creation of the Hanwei Golden Oriole Wakizashi. With a blade of hand forged high carbon steel the Golden Oriole Wakizashi
surely is as beautiful as it is authentic. The Tsuba is of antiqued iron and tells the story of the Praying Mantis stalking
a cricket, unaware that he himself is being stalked by the Golden Oriole. The deeply lacquered blue of the Saya (Scabbard)
is repeated in the Japanese cotton Tsuka-Ito (Handle Binding). The long handle gives superb balance to the sword allowing
for quick and decisive movements.

The blade of the Kami Wakizashi features a hand-forged
and folded powder steel blade, differentially tempered to produce a quality blade with a distinctive Hamon. The Saya is deeply
lacquered in a rich blood red with. The Same is of genuine rayskin and the Tsuka-ito (Handle Binding) is of premium Japanese
cotton. The Tsuba depicts
various Japanese Kami (Divine Deities) wreathed in fire, cloud and smoke and is formed from blackened and bronzed
iron with gold and silver detailing. The Tsuka-Ito on the Katana and Wakizashi and the Sageo on all three pieces are
woven from Japanese cotton. The Fuchi and Kashira are of blackened bronze with brass detailing.
This Wakizashi is undoubtedly one of the finest
weapons to have ever come out of the Hanwei forge.

Habaki (Blade Collar) is formed from brass. All fittings on the sword carry the flower iconography. The Tsuka Ito (Handle
Binding) is formed from high quality black synthetic leather.

The Hanwei Shinto Wakizashi is generally considered to be the Backbone of
all Hanwei swords. This quality Wakizashi is built around a sharp, hand-tempered steel blade. The
Same (Rayskin) is genuine and is bound with Black Tsuka-Ito. The Tsuba features a highly detailed casting of a Dragon and
is treated with an antiqued finish. The Saya (Scabbard) is formed from wood and
is lacquered in a deep black. Its fittings are of polished buffalo horn.
