This Hardwood Oar is formed from a single piece of turned and shaped hardwood in the manner that others of its type have been created for a centuries all across Asia. Popular in Okinawa as a fisherman's weapon of defence, the Eku or Kaibo is used in a similar method to other staff types, with the added advantage of deep sweeping and crushing blows.
