This Hojo-Jutsu nawa (Restraining Rope) is formed from a light and flexible synthetic fibre rope. Utilised throughout feudal Japan Hojo-Jutsu (also referred to as Torinawa Jutsu) was an effective method of restraining or immobilising an opponent. Often wrongly referred to as Hojutsu (Hojojutsu being the Art Of Firearms) Hojo-Jutsu remains in use in the form of modern Torinawa amongst the elite of the Japanese police force.
