KENJUTSU COURSE (Japanese Longsword)

Date: Saturday 29th August 2009

The Kenjutsu course will allow students to study into what is without a doubt the most famous of Japanese weapons, the Katana. This course will run over the basics history, traditions and practical application of the Japanese long sword. Students will learn Kata (Forms) Kamae (posture) Chiburi (Blood Removal) Noto (Sheathing Methods) as well as fighting application. The ticket price includes one Hardwood Bokken (Wooden Katana).

The Keiko Gunjin is the annual Junsei training course where Junsei students can get together and learn something new and exiting from a number of guest instructors. Currently instruction available on the day will include Jujutsu, Aikijujutsu, Kempo, Kenjutsu and Aikido.

HOJO-JUTSU COURSE (Rope Restraint Methods)

The Hojojutsu course will allow students to study into the history, traditions and practical application of an unusual but highly adaptable weapon. Students will learn the differences between passive and aggressive restraint, as well as the fighting application still taught to the Japanese police to this day. The ticket price includes one full length Hojo-Hima (Restraint Rope).
