Sashimono Battle Standard (L-Bar)
Sashimono, Japanese Sashimono, Samurai Sashimono, Japanese Flag, Japanese Banner,
Item # BANNER-01

During
times of war the Sashimono was the traditional battle standard worn by samurai of all ranks so that a warriors unit or clan
could easily be identified. During peacetime the Sashimono were proudly displayed outside the homes of Samurai as well as
all about the walls of the regional castles. Originally designed to be worn fixed to the back of armour, the
design of the Sashimono has changed little for thousands of years (Similar battle standards also existed throughout ancient
China and Korea). The design of a Sashimono always features a simple bold design of no more than two colours,
and always of a colour that contrasts well with the material of the main body of the flag itself. The Flags of these hand painted Sashimono measure 150cm x 45cm whilst the supporting pole measures 180cm
in length. Choose your own colour and design, contact us for further details. (These sample Sashimono were created for the Junsei Ryu Hoshin Jutsu Renmei and feature the organisations Mon
and Kanji)
